Earthquakes: Rapid& successive shaking of the ground, take place one after the other Egypt is considered as one of the countries that less exposed to earthquakes. But in 1992, Egypt was exposed to an intermediate earthquake, its intensity was 5.9 on the Richter magnitude scale, it caused material harms& loss in spirits. Harms of Earthquake: 1. Great losses in spirits& building. 2. Roads blocking. 3. Occurrence of great fires. 4. Extremely high waves originated from it destroy the coastal cities; these waves are called Tsunami waves. Benefits of earthquake: By studding the seismic waves of earthquake, it is possible to know the earth internal structure. The Volcano: It is an opening in the earth's crust which permits the passage of molten Materials ( Lava)& the poisoned gases outside it to the earth's surface. Harms of Volcanoes: 1. Lava flows destruct whole towns& villages. 2. The poisoning gases& dust spread into far places. 3. Fires in the neighboring places& forests. Benefits of Volcanoes: 1. The thermal energy resulted is used to produce electricity. 2. The formation of more fertile soil. 3. It forms new islands in seas, increases the land areas& produces valuable rocks.
