Inequalities A term used to express the relation between two or more values when they are not equal, or not absolutely equal. Solving the Inequalities generates a value or an interval representing all the possibilities to make it TRUE. Types There are 4 types of Inequalities: 1. Greater than. 2. Smaller than. 3. Greater than or Equal. 4. Smaller than or Equal. Solve x2 > 4 s.s = R – [-2 , 2] Solve 2 < 2x ≤ 4 : s.s = ] 1 , 2 ] Hints to Solve any Inequality: 1. Every operation duplicates in both sides. 2. Multiplying by (-ve) change the direction of the inequality. 3. The solution set is usually an interval. 4. Inequalities can be linear, quadratic or with any degree
